Art Deco Furniture

A few months ago Eddie was commisioned to make a full bedroom suite of art deco furniture, it consisted of a King Size Bed, two matching bed side cabinets or tables, a chest of drawers and a dressing table with matching stool, as this was a big project and in order to be able to fit it in around Eddie's other commisions he employed the help of another cabinet maker called Alan Pennington, Alan a young cabinet maker of 8 years in the trade is especially experianced in veneer work and his knowledge was a great help in this area.  The furniture was constructed of mainly Maple but also incorparated Sycamor, Utile and Ebony inlays.  The chest of drawers has soft close drawer runners fitted on the solid dovetail drawers and has the Ebony, Sycamor and Utile inlays and is finished with wooden hand made handles, the bedside tables are to match the chest of drawers but have the drawers fitted on a more traditional wooden runner.  The bed is extremly heavy, due to its solid Maple and Utile construction and is also fitted with beech slats for the mattress to sit on, but of course is easily taken apart for ease of movement, the dressing table with its fan shaped mirror also has a stool made to match the rest of the suite.  We at EB Furniture think this is a stunning set of bedroom furniture which appeals to a certain persons taste in furniture, we were extremely pleased ( As were the clients ) with the out come of this project and hope you enjoy looking at the following images in the bedroom furniture part ofthe gallery.
