American Popular or sometimes known as Tulip Wood can be oiled or lacquered or more commonly used for painted furniture as it has very few knots a achieves an excellent finish.

Iroko a very durable timber with an oily feel to it, good uses include kitchen work tops and out door furniture such as garden benches and patio sets.
